ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Mark Visentin made 24 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Niagara IceDogs blanked the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 3-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.
Visentin, who made 11 saves in the third period, had a relatively quiet night as his team played a near perfect game in front of him.
Billy Jenkins opened the scoring for Niagara (10-9-2) in the final minute of the second period, firing home his second goal of the season from the slot.
Dougie Hamilton made it 2-0 IceDogs just 48 seconds into the third with his tenth goal of the season on a snap shot from the top of the circle on a nice cross-ice feed from David Pacan.
Alex Friesen closed out the scoring with 12 seconds left in regulation time, scoring his seventh goal of the season on the power play.
Goaltender JP Anderson made 41 saves for Mississauga (11-7-4) in the loss.
