NHL to host free fan festival in celebration of 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic @NHLdotcom

NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League, in conjunction with the City of Vancouver, has announced plans to hold a free outdoor hockey and entertainment festival for fans of all ages in celebration of the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game between the Ottawa Senators® and the Vancouver Canucks®.

On Sunday, Mar. 2 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. -- before the puck drops for the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic -- the parking lot outside the Plaza of Nations will transform into the 2014 Canadian Tire NHL Spectator Plaza. Festivities that highlight the event include: autograph opportunities and a live question and answer session with 1994 Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Final team members Kirk McLean and Cliff Ronning; interactive hockey-themed attractions; a wide selection of officially licensed merchandise and collectibles; a chance to win tickets to 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game; and much more. Starting at 10:30 a.m., fans can enjoy a musical performance by Side One presented by SiriusXM.

Canadian Tire- As title sponsor of the NHL Heritage Classic Spectator Plaza, Canadian Tire promises an experience that families won't forget. Drop by to see professional ice sculptors build hockey creations, a custom wall of ice, play real table-top-style ICE hockey and challenge yourself in the Canadian Tire Money Machine!

Bridgestone- Bridgestone will give fans a chance to test their shooting skills against a live goalie in a fun slap shot shootout, as a play-by-play announcer makes calls from the Bridgestone broadcast booth during the competition. Bridgestone also will be handing out foam hockey stick hats and lip balm to fans who visit the Bridgestone booth.

CanAM- Head over to Can-Am Spyder display booth to throw a leg over the only machine that gives you the adventure and exhilaration of riding in the open air on the open road, combined with incredible control and confidence -- all thanks to its Y-frame design for stability.

Honda- Stop by to guess how many pucks are in the Honda Fit! Need to charge your cell phone? Honda's got you covered. Warm up for the NHL Heritage Classic by testing your slapshot accuracy in the back of a CR-V, or showcase your hockey skills one-on-one against former Canucks player Brendan Morrison.

Kraft- Come by the KRAFT booth to feed your love for hockey with some free samples of delicious Cracker Barrel and aMOOza! cheese and don't forget to say hello to our beloved KRAFT Peanut Butter Bears!

Molson- Those who are 19 years of age or older can enjoy cold Molson Canadian or Coors Light beer at the Molson Canadian Hockey House while challenging their friends to bubble hockey or a Hockey Equipment Dressing Race.

Panini- Panini, the official trading card and sticker manufacturer of the NHL, has created a custom NHL Sticker sheet honoring the NHL Heritage Classic by featuring members of the Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks and will give fans in attendance a FREE pack of Panini NHL Heritage Classic trading cards. Reebok- Fans who stop by the Reebok-CCM booth will be able to dress like their hockey idols in a pro-locker experience, and when they've finished, can head over to Sniper's Fire to try Reebok-CCM's latest stick innovations to show off their skills.

Reese- Visitors to the REESE RAISE THE CUP™ photo booth will have the opportunity to have their own personalized hockey card created onsite wearing fantastic customized REESE hockey uniforms and props. Fans who participate will receive REESE full size samples.

Rogers- Radio stations JACK FM (CKLG) and News 1130 (CKWX) will have booths inside Spectator Plaza for fans to visit for a chance to win tickets to the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game.

Scotiabank- Sign up for a ScotiaHockey®* NHL® VISA* card to show your team pride and receive a FREE Trevor Linden signed plaque! Scotiabank also will feature autograph sessions and one-on-one interviews with Vancouver Canucks Alumni Kirk McLean and Cliff Ronning. Additionally, fans who visit the Scotiabank booth will have the opportunity to instantly print their own commemorative photos. Be sure to register for Scotia Hockey Club's High Five contest on Facebook before the NHL Heritage Classic game in order to celebrate each goal for a chance to attend the NHL Awards™!

Shaw- The Shaw Go Trailer will be a unique interactive experience where visitors are able to play with all of Shaw's products and services on site. The trailer is equipped with three big screen HDTV's connected to HD, HDPVR & Gateway equipment, Shaw Direct Satellite Dish, Cell Phone Charging Station and a mobile Shaw Go Wi-Fi hotspot (one of 30,000 throughout the Shaw footprint).

TeamSnap- TeamSnap and NHL Green™ have partnered to recycle the game. Visitors to Spectator Plaza are encouraged to donate their used hockey gear, including helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin pads, gloves, skates and sticks. All donations will support local youth community programs, through HEROS Hockey. In addition, NHL Green will give visiting fans green colored hockey tape.

Tim Hortons- Attendees can stop by the Tim Hortons tent to enjoy complimentary coffee and play on the Tim Hortons Mini-Hockey Rink -- the perfect location for young hockey fans to jump in and play hockey with other young hockey fans.

Upper Deck- Upper Deck is offering attendees of the NHL Heritage Classic a chance to bring out their inner hockey star. Fans can stop by the Upper Deck booth to get suited up and create their very own personalized trading card, all courtesy of Upper Deck. In addition, Upper Deck will have free hockey cards for everyone who visits, as well as a "lucky pack" game where fans can compete to win packs of cards and other fun Upper Deck prizes.
