defenseman Thomas Pock
has been suspended for five games, without pay, as a result of an elbowing incident that took place during NHL Game #229 last night against the Ottawa Senators
, the National Hockey League announced.
Pock was assessed a major penalty for elbowing and game misconduct for hitting Ottawa forward Ryan Shannon
at 15:55 of the third period.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Pock will forfeit $17,943.55. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Pock will miss Saturday's game against Ottawa, Nov. 17 against Vancouver, Nov. 21 at New Jersey, Nov. 22 at Buffalo and Nov. 24 at Montreal. He will be eligible to return Nov. 26 against the Pittsburgh Penguins
