Thank you for your interest in the NHL Power Players™ Youth Advisory Board ("Advisory Board"). The Advisory Board is a newly-formed initiative focused on selecting young hockey fans to help to advise the NHL on hockey-related topics important to their generation. This Privacy Notice describes the NHL's collection, use, and sharing of your information in connection with the Advisory Board. For purposes of this Privacy Notice, the "NHL" means the National Hockey League and its affiliates.
Information We Collect: When you complete an application to join the Advisory Board, we collect your name, date of birth, e-mail address and other contact information, responses to questions about your hockey-related interests, and contact information for one of your parents (or legal guardians). Your application will be reviewed by the NHL Power Player Committee who will select a list of finalists from all applications submitted. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be asked to participate in a phone/video call interview before final board members are selected. If you are selected to join the Advisory Board, we will also collect any information you provide in connection with your participation in the Advisory Board. This information includes your feedback, suggestions, ideas and other contributions (collectively, "Feedback") to any Advisory Board meetings, which may be conducted via phone or digital communication platforms such as Zoom, Skype, or Google Hangouts. You may also be asked to provide certain Feedback by email. The Advisory Board is open to individuals age 13 to 17 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent, unless permitted by law.
Use: The NHL will use this information to assess your application to join the Advisory Board and interest in the program, to communicate with you and your parents (or legal guardian), and, if you are selected to join the Advisory Board, in connection with your participation in the Advisory Board program. We will use your parent's (or legal guardian's) contact information that you provide on the application to notify them that you have submitted an application for the Advisory Board and, if you are accepted, to obtain his or her consent for your participation in the Advisory Board. You are responsible for obtaining your parent's (or legal guardian's) consent to provide us his or her contact information for this purpose.
Sharing: If you are selected to join the Advisory Board, your information may be shared with the National Hockey League's member clubs (the "Clubs"). For example, we may share your feedback or ideas with Clubs if we feel it would be of interest to or benefit the Club. Your contributions to the Advisory Board, including at meetings, will be accessible to other Advisory Board members. Information you provide us for purposes of a public Advisory Board biography will be posted online and accessible to members of the public.
