The third time was the charm for the Vancouver Canucks
, when it came to Game 2 against the Chicago Blackhawks
. They finally edged their nemesis 4-3 in the second contest of a playoff series after failing to do so the previous two years. Prior to Vancouver’s April 16 victory, the Blackhawks were 2-0 in Game 2s against Vancouver.
The victory was made possible by the brothers Sedin -- Henrik and Daniel -- as Daniel posted two goals, including the game-winner, and Henrik registered an assist and four shots.
Chicago was not easily defeated, however, and sliced Vancouver’s lead three different times in the game. Ben Smith
scored two goals for the Hawks, but it wasn’t enough to tame the Sedins. The loss meant Chicago would return home for Game 3 with a 2-0 deficit to dig out of in the best-of-seven series.
