A new weekly highlight show will debut Saturday night on NHL Network.
NHL Plays of the Week will air every Saturday at 6 p.m. on the network in the United States. The first show will focus on the best plays from Oct. 8-14.
The show will be followed by Hockey Tonight at 6:30 p.m. and a 90-minute edition of NHL on The Fly at 7 p.m.
After that it is an Original Six showdown with the Boston Bruins making a trip to the Windy City to face the Chicago Blackhawks in a matchup of the past two Stanley Cup champions.
The defending champion Bruins have lost three of four to start the season, but one of the surprise stars of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, forward Brad Marchand has picked up where he left off with two goals and four points.
Chicago added more depth in the offseason after having to disassemble the 2010 champions to adhere to the salary cap, but the core players from the title run remain and Patrick Kane has five points in three games despite missing most of training camp with a wrist injury.
