* Fans at Canadian Tire Centre were treated to a 12-goal offensive outburst, including a seven-goal second period, as the Senators outlasted their Atlantic Division rivals in their home opener.

* Six games featured a team erase a multi-goal deficit (regardless of result). Only four days in NHL history have featured more: Dec. 21, 2013 (8), Nov. 22, 2006 (8), Oct. 11, 1986 (8) and Nov. 16, 2019 (7).
* The NHL and its 32 Clubs released a comprehensive report, 'Accelerating Diversity & Inclusion: NHL Report on Strategies, Initiatives and Progress,' highlighting intentional efforts to promote positive social change within the sport.

SENATORS WITHSTAND BRUINS, PARADE TO HOME-OPENING WIN

In a contest that featured Senators captain Brady Tkachuk (1-2-3) guiding his team to a 3-0 first-period lead and Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron (1-2-3) helping his club draw even through the first 90 seconds of the second period, Ottawa eventually skated to victory in its home opener after the Atlantic Division rivals combined for seven goals in the middle frame.
* Tkachuk found the back of the net 3:09 into the first period and helped the Senators build an early multi-goal lead after Claude Giroux opened the scoring 1:04 into the contest. The duo combined for the fastest two goals to start a home opener in franchise history, eclipsing the previous mark set by Erik Karlsson (4:32) and Bobby Ryan (6:51) on Oct. 17, 2013.
* Tuesday marked the 13th time Tkachuk netted three points in a game - the fifth most in Senators history by a player age 23 or younger. Alexei Yashin (22 GP), Jason Spezza (19 GP), Marian Hossa (19 GP) and Erik Karlsson (14 GP) are the only skaters with more.
* ICYMI: Brady Tkachuk was at a loss for words during his post-game interview on the bench, expressing how much of an impact the energy from a sold-out crowd at Canadian Tire Centre had on the team during their home opener.

DID SOMEONE SAY MULTI-GOAL COMEBACKS?

The Devils, Blue Jackets, Kings, Flames and Flyers each thrilled their fans Tuesday with multi-goal comeback victories, bumping the NHL's total on come-from-behind wins of any kind to 29 so far in 2022-23 - only two seasons in League history have seen as many at this stage of a campaign (55 GP): 1986-87 (33) and 2016-17 (29).
* Offseason acquisition and two-time Stanley Cup winner Ondrej Palat potted the first of four unanswered Devils goals as New Jersey

. Lindy Ruff registered the 783rd win of his NHL career and passed Al Arbour (782) for sole possession of fifth place on the
League's all-time list among head coaches

* Matt Roy (2-0-2) scored twice in the third period and Gabriel Vilardi (1-1-2) netted the decisive marker in the shootout as Los Angeles became the fourth team to post a multi-goal, third-period comeback win this season joining Anaheim (Oct. 12) Montreal (Oct. 17) and Washington (Oct. 17). The Kings have now won each of their first three road games of a season for just the third time in franchise history (also 2015-16: 3 GP & 1989-90: 3 GP).
* Johnny Gaudreau (1-1-2) tallied his first multi-point outing as a member of the Blue Jackets, including scoring a third-period game-tying goal before Vladislav Gavrikov's first career overtime winner, as Columbus earned its first win of 2022-23. Gaudreau improved his career point totals against Vancouver to 14-30-44 (42 GP), his highest versus any opponent.
* Steven Stamkos

early in the second period to put the Lightning up 2-0, but the Flyers rallied with three unanswered goals to earn their third straight comeback victory and improve to 3-0-0 - Philadelphia's longest
season-opening win streak
in 11 years (3 GP from Oct. 6-12, 2011). It marked the third time in franchise history that the Flyers have posted a comeback win in three consecutive contests to start a campaign, following 1988-89 (3 GP) and 1982-83 (3 GP).

DAHLIN SCORES AGAIN AND TIES NHL MARK

Rasmus Dahlin (1-0-1) scored for the third straight game to start 2022-23 and leads the Sabres in points this season (3-1-4 in 3 GP). Dahlin, who netted a career-high 13 goals in 2021-22, didn't tally his third marker of the season until Nov. 21 (17 GP).
* Of note, Baldy Northcott (6-0-6 in 4 GP) scored at least one goal in each of the Montreal Maroons' first four games from the start of the 1932-33 season. Despite being listed as a defenseman, Northcott played games as a forward in 1932-33 and was included as a left wing on the
postseason All-Star Team that year
