by NHL Public Relations @PR_NHL

NEW YORK - The 2020 NHL Fan Fair™ at St. Louis Union Station will be the site of the sixth annual NHL Mascot Showdown™ as part of the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend, Jan. 23-26, in St. Louis, Mo. Fifteen Western Conference mascots, led by the reigning Stanley Cup® Champion St. Louis Blues' own Louie™, will face fourteen Eastern Conference mascots, guided by ThunderBug™ from the Tampa Bay Lightning, in four days of friendly but fierce competition. The mascots will also appear during NHL All-Star red carpet arrivals outside Enterprise Center starting at 3:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Jan. 24.

The NHL Mascot Showdown™ is one of the most anticipated events at the 2020 NHL Fan Fair™, the official fan festival of the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend. Twenty-nine NHL Mascots™ (not every NHL team has its own mascot) will showcase their hockey skills and athletic prowess, offering family-friendly fun for fans of all ages. For the sixth straight year, NHL in-arena host Mike Todd will handle play-by-play duties for each event. Each competition will be preceded by a mascot parade, a warm up and stretching session led by one of the 29 mascots, a ceremonial puck drop and a group photo. Select young fans in attendance will be able to take part in the warm up and stretching session prior to each planned event.

"This will be the sixth annual NHL Mascot Showdown and it has already become a must-see, fan-favorite event amongst fans of all ages during Honda NHL All-Star Weekend," said Dave McCarthy, NHL Vice President of Consumer Products. "We can't wait for our loveable mascots, led by host and Western Conference captain Louie, to thrill those in attendance at NHL Fan Fair with their athletic skills and endearing personalities."
