by Staff

NHL Live with Steve Mears and Ken Daneyko, at 5 p.m. ET on NHL Network, continues the countdown to the 2014 Sochi Olympics while getting fans set for an 11-game Thursday night around the League.

The focus Thursday will be on previewing Group B, which includes Canada, Finland, Norway and Austria. Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos will not be available to Canada and teammate Martin St. Louis was named Thursday to take his place. Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Bay Times shares his reactions to Stamkos' press conference and his replacement being announced.

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler will join the show to talk about his outstanding season and his hopes for Sochi.

St. Louis Blues prospect Jake Allen, who picked up some big wins in the NHL last season and is currently starring in the American Hockey League, will be on to talk about that experience as well as next week's 2014 AHL All-Star Classic against Färjestad BK, one of the top professional teams in the Swedish Hockey League.
