The Philadelphia Flyers named center Sean Couturier captain Feb. 14.
The Flyers had not had a captain since they traded forward Claude Giroux to the Florida Panthers on March 19, 2022.
Four NHL teams are without a captain: the Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks and Seattle Kraken.
Sidney Crosby is the longest current tenured captain, holding the position for the Pittsburgh Penguins since May 31, 2007.
