NOTES: Value has been quantified based on performance in standard categories (goals, assists, plus/minus, power-play points, shots on goal, hits for skaters; wins, goals-against average, save percentage, shutouts for goalies). Preseason average draft position and a player's value before injury were taken into account in some of these picks.

-- Voting points: Voters included Pete Jensen, Rob Reese and David Satriano. Each voter selected four centers, left wings and right wings, six defensemen and three goalies. Point values for voting were as follows: 10, 7, 4, 2 for each forward position; 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2 for defensemen; 10, 5, 3 for goalies. One tie was broken by number of writers who selected each player. For the second tie-breaker, the third voter who originally didn't pick the players chose between the two.
