PITTSBURGH, Pa. - T.J. Oshie scored twice and added an assist as the Washington Capitals spoiled Mike Sullivan's coaching debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 4-1 win on Monday night.
Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and two assists for Washington. John Carlson added his fifth goal of the season for the Metropolitan Division leaders. Braden Holtby stopped 44 of Pittsburgh's season-high 45 shots.
Evgeni Malkin scored his team-leading 14th goal but the Penguins failed to keep pace with Washington in Sullivan's first game since taking over when Mike Johnston was fired Saturday. Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 saves, but captain Sidney Crosby was held without a point and Pittsburgh's power play went 0 for 2.
OILERS 3, BRUINS 2, OT
BOSTON (AP) ? Andrej Sekera scored 41 seconds into overtime to lift Edmonton over Boston for its sixth straight victory.
Cam Talbot made 47 saves, and Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored first-period goals for Edmonton. The victory halted an eight-game losing streak in Boston for the Oilers, fresh off a 5-0 homestand ??? their best since 1987.
The Bruins tied it on Brad Marchand's goal with 4:38 to play in regulation. Matt Beleskey also scored for Boston, which has earned at least one point in each of its last 16 games against the Oilers (13-0-3).
LIGHTNING 2, BLUE JACKETS 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ??? Brian Boyle scored a short-handed goal in the third period and Ben Bishop made several big stops down the stretch, finishing with 25 saves as Tampa Bay beat Columbus.
Jonathan Marchessault also scored for the Lightning, but star forward Steven Stamkos was held off the scoreboard for the ninth straight game.
Brandon Dubinsky scored for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped four in a row. Joonas Korpisalo, a 21-year-old rookie, was impressive in stopping 27 shots during his first NHL start.
SENATORS 5, KINGS 3
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) ??? Mike Hoffman had two goals and an assist to lead Ottawa over Los Angeles.
Kyle Turris, Erik Karlsson and Mika Zibanejad also scored for the Senators. Craig Anderson made 33 saves in his 15th straight start.
Jamie McBain, Tyler Toffoli and Jake Muzzin scored for Los Angeles. Jonathan Quick stopped 16 shots.
The Senators scored four goals in the second to build a 4-2 lead.
SABRES 2, RED WINGS 1
DETROIT (AP) ??? Ryan O'Reilly and Johan Larsson scored 61 seconds apart late in the third period, rallying Buffalo past Detroit.
O'Reilly tied it 1-all at 15:46 when his deflected shot beat goalie Petr Mrazek between the legs. Larsson scored the go-ahead goal with 3:13 remaining, his first goal in 30 games since April 6 last season against Carolina.
Brad Richards scored for the Red Wings, who had earned at least one point in 13 consecutive games.
Buffalo snapped an eight-game winless streak in Detroit with its first victory there since Oct. 13, 2006. Chad Johnson made 33 saves for the Sabres.
