PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Josh Bailey's goal with 1:40 left capped the Islanders' furious third-period rally, and New York edged the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on Friday night.
Bailey took a feed from Frans Nielsen in front of the net and beat goalie Jeff Zatkoff for his fourth goal of the season. The Islanders scored three times in the final 7:14 and erased deficits of 2-1 and 3-2.
Nielsen, Matt Moulson and Pierre-Marc Bouchard also scored for New York, and defenceman Radek Martinek had two assists in his season debut. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 39 shots.
Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby scored his eighth goal of the season and now has an NHL-high 18 points. Jussi Jokinen and Deryk Engelland also beat Nabokov but couldn't stop the Penguins from losing their second straight.
Zatkoff, playing in his second NHL game, made 21 saves.
BLUE JACKETS 5, MAPLE LEAFS 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ? Marian Gaborik scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Sergei Bobrovsky made it stand up to lead Columbus over Toronto.
Bobrovsky, last season's Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's top goalie, had 23 saves.
Brandon Dubinsky added a short-handed goal, Nick Foligno also scored, Ryan Johansen had an empty-netter, and rookie defenceman Ryan Murray notched his first career goal for the Blue Jackets, who have won three in a row since losing four straight. Dubinsky and Foligno each also had an assist.
Phil Kessel and Dave Bolland had goals for the Maple Leafs, who made only their fifth trip to Columbus in the Blue Jackets' 13 seasons.
It was the first time the Blue Jackets scored more than four goals in a game this season.
SABRES 3, PANTHERS 1
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) ??? Steve Ott scored the go-ahead goal, Jhonas Enroth made 44 saves, and Buffalo topped Florida to snap a three-game losing streak and win for just the second time in 12 games.
Rasmus Ristolainen and Cody Hodgson also scored for Buffalo.
The Sabres went ahead 2-1 at 12:42 of the third on Ott's goal. Christian Ehrhoff took a shot from the point, and Ott tipped it past Jacob Markstrom.
Hodgson scored an empty-net goal with 47 seconds left.
Jesse Winchester scored for Florida, and Markstrom stopped 18 shots. Florida lost for the fifth time in six games despite taking a season-high 45 shots.
The Panthers outshot the Sabres 18-4 in the first period, and led in shots 34-14 through 40 minutes.
DUCKS 2, SENATORS 1
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) ??? Ryan Getzlaf scored the winning goal, Frederik Andersen made 26 saves, and Anaheim beat Ottawa for its first victory on an eight-game road trip.
Patrick Maroon also scored for the Ducks, who are three games into the trip.
Mika Zibanejad netted the Senators' goal, and Craig Anderson stopped 26 shots.
Anaheim was coming off a 4-1 loss to the Montreal on Thursday.
The Senators' best period was the third, but Andersen stopped all 12 shots he faced.
CANUCKS 3, BLUES 2, OT
ST. LOUIS (AP) ??? Ryan Kesler scored his second goal of the game at 4:45 of overtime during a power play to lift Vancouver over St. Louis.
With Patrik Berglund off for hooking, Vancouver took advantage of the 4-on-3 power play when Kesler got control of the puck down low in the slot and swatted it past goalie Jaroslav Halak.
Backup goalie Eddie Lack made 22 saves for the Canucks, who went 5-1-1 on their seven-game road trip.
Chris Higgins had Vancouver's other goal, and Mike Santorelli added two assists.
Alexander Steen had a goal and an assist for St. Louis, and Vladimir Sobotka also scored.
