NEW YORK (AP) -Alex Ovechkin finally had his Broadway breakout.
Ovechkin, who came in with only two career points in six games at Madison Square Garden, showed off his MVP form with two goals and an assist Tuesday night and rallied the Washington Capitals from a four-goal deficit to a 5-4 overtime victory over the New York Rangers.
Shaone Morrisonn scored his first of the season on the only shot in overtime to win it 59 seconds in. New York led 4-0 and carried a three-goal lead into the third period, but couldn't hold it. The only other time the Rangers lost at home after leading 4-0 was March 27, 1979.
Ovechkin had never enjoyed a road victory against the Rangers, and the Capitals hadn't won in New York in nearly five years.
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Tim Thomas made 25 saves and Milan Lucic broke a scoreless tie early in the third period and the Boston extended its winning streak to six, their longest stretch since last season.
Thomas, recording his third shutout this season and 10th of his career, made the goal stand up with solid stops on Travis Zajac and Dainius Zubrus in the final 4 minutes. David Krejci added an empty-net goal to seal the win.
The Bruins' Phil Kessel had his point scoring streak snapped after 18 games.
The Devils, coping with the loss of four-time Vezina Trophy winner Martin Brodeur until February or March, were 12-2-1 in the their previous 15 games. Clemmensen made 22 saves but it wasn't enough to extend New Jersey's three-game winning streak.
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Bryan Little scored his second goal of the game on the power play in third period and Atlanta kept the Islanders winless in 10 games.
Little backhanded a rebound of a shot by Ilya Kovalchuk past Joey MacDonald at 7:42 of the third period to give Atlanta its third straight win against New York. It also gave Kovalchuk his 500th NHL point in his 500th game.
Colby Armstrong added an empty netter with 39.1 seconds left. It was his fifth goal in his last five games. Mathieu Schneider also scored for the Thrashers.
Andy Hilbert and Sean Bergenheim had the Islanders' goals. New York has not won in December (0-9-1). Joey MacDonald stopped 24 shots for New York.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jeff Carter scored his NHL-best 26th goal and Simon Gagne got the winner late in the third period.
Omitted from the All-Star ballot, Carter continues to shine and prove he deserves a spot as an Eastern Conference reserve in next month's game. He was knocked on his back and slid into the boards in the second period, a prime scoring shot wiped out on a tripping penalty. Carter needed little time to get up and punch in No. 26 to put the Flyers ahead 3-2.
Ottawa scored twice in third against Antero Niittymaki to even the score, then Gagne scored his 18th goal with 5:30 left.
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Tomas Vokoun made 25 saves for his second consecutive shutout and Michael Frolik scored twice.
