BOSTON (AP) -David Krejci and Shawn Thornton scored third-period goals to lift the Boston Bruins to their 13th straight home victory, a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
Marc Savard and Stephane Yelle also scored for Boston, which won its fourth straight to extend the club's longest home winning streak in 32 years. The Bruins are 18-2-1 in their last 21 games and have won nine of 10.
Manny Fernandez made 32 saves and improved to 10-1-1 in his last 12 starts. The victory was tainted by the loss of forward Patrice Bergeron, who was helped off the ice after a collision. The injury appeared to be to Bergeron's head or neck.
Joni Pitkanen and Ray Whitney scored for Carolina.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Scott Hartnell scored three goals, Jeff Carter added a pair, and Antero Niittymaki stopped a season-high 47 shots as Philadelphia snapped Washington's five game winning streak.
Hartnell notched his fifth career hat trick by scoring three times in the third period. Carter, who added two assists, has 24 goals - tying him with Buffalo's Thomas Vanek for the NHL lead.
Joffrey Lupul added a goal and three assists, and Simon Gagne also scored for the Flyers, who are unbeaten in regulation in their last 11 home games (9-0-2).
Brooks Laich scored for the Capitals, who had won seven of eight.
