Welcome to the NHL Buzz. The 2022-23 regular season is underway, and NHL.com has you covered with all the latest news.

Ottawa Senators

Josh Norris is out at least two weeks with a shoulder injury.
The Senators are waiting for results on an MRI performed on the forward, who left a 6-2 victory against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday midway through the third period after he was injured taking a face-off.
"There's just so much torque that goes into these face-offs, and guys are digging in," coach D.J. Smith said. "It's unfortunate. We were lucky that no one had gotten banged up so far, and then this takes a piece from us. But in saying that, it's Derick
(18:32) and Alex DeBrincat (18:29).
Brassard made his season debut and scored for the Senators in a 4-2 win against the Dallas Stars at Canadian Tire Centre on Monday. He played center on a line with forwards Claude Giroux and Alex DeBrincat, and took Norris' place on the power play.
"You never know when you're going to have to jump in," Brassard said. "A situation like that, you see an injury, it's not the perfect scenario, but we're a team here, everyone's important. The extra guys, we've worked hard the past two weeks to try and stay ready.
"When your team is winning, it's pretty easy. It's a great atmosphere in our room. We're having fun every day and everyone wants to play, but at the same time, it's something that I was OK with at the start of the season, accepting my role. That's why I came back, for a situation like this."

Winnipeg Jets

Jets coach Rick Bowness did not coach the Jets in their 4-0 win against the St. Louis Blues on Monday.
The 67-year-old needed more rest after recently having COVID-19. Winnipeg was coached by associate Scott Arniel.
Bowness experienced dizzy spells and needed to prematurely end his media availability Monday morning.
Bowness tested positive for COVID-19 hours prior to the season opener against the New York Rangers on Oct. 14. Arniel coached the first four games before Bowness worked a 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Canada Life Centre on Saturday.
Bowness was hired July 3 after coaching the Dallas Stars for three seasons and guiding them to the 2020 Stanley Cup Final, a six-game loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He resigned May 20. -- Darrin Bauming

New York Rangers

Filip Chytil is out at least four games with an upper-body injury the forward sustained 1:32 into the first period of a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.
The Rangers host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+) and play at the New York Islanders on Wednesday, the first of a three-game road trip that continues at the Dallas Stars on Saturday and concludes at the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday.
Chytil has three points (two goals, one assist) in six games.

Chicago Blackhawks

Petr Mrazek will not be rushed back by the Blackhawks. The goalie is on injured reserve, retroactive to Friday, with a groin strain he sustained in a 4-3 overtime win against the Detroit Red Wings.
"I just saw him working with the trainers today. I haven't heard any worse or any better. It's probably at least a week, could be two weeks, but it's hard to tell with a goalie with a lower-body strain," Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said Monday. "I think with his history we're just making sure that we do the right way for him."
Mrazek was limited to 20 games with the Maple Leafs last season because of a groin injury. He saved 15 of 18 shots through two periods, then did not return against Detroit. Alex Stalock played the third period and overtime and saved all 10 shots.
Stalock made 30 saves in a 5-4 win against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. Richardson said Stalock is expected to start the next two games.
The Blackhawks host the Florida Panthers at United Center on Tuesday (8:30 p.m. ET; NBCSCH, BSFL, ESPN+, SN NOW).

Pittsburgh Penguins

Teddy Blueger was placed on long term injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 11. The forward will be out for a minimum of 24 days and 10 games. He has not played this season because of an upper-body injury sustained at practice Sept. 28.
The Penguins recalled forwards Drake Caggiula and Sam Poulin from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre of the American Hockey League. Pittsburgh dressed 11 forwards in its 6-3 win against the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Jake Guentzel missed that game with an upper-body injury. The forward did not practice with the Penguins on Sunday but did skate afterward.
The Penguins allowed five straight goals in a 6-3 loss at the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
