Carolina Hurricanes

Antti Raanta left a 5-2 win against the New York Islanders on Sunday with a lower-body injury.
The goalie was injured making a save at 12:57 of the second period.
Goalie Frederik Andersen has missed four games with a lower-body injury and will be reevaluated in the next few days. Alex Lyon, who is with Chicago of the American Hockey League, is also out with an injury, leaving Pyotr Kochetkov, Jack LaFontaine and Dylan Wells as healthy options for the Hurricanes with two games remaining before the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"I don't know, and I don't know how bad 'Raants' is," Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "I'm hoping it's not too serious. We'll know more in a couple of days."
Carolina will not practice Monday after back-to-back wins against the Islanders and New Jersey Devils. The Hurricanes visit the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
Kochetkov made seven saves to help the Hurricanes extend their lead to four points over the Rangers for first in the Metropolitan Division. New York has a game in hand.
Kochetkov became the fourth Carolina/Hartford Whalers goalie to win his NHL debut and first since David Ayres (Feb. 22, 2020) with 17 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory at the Devils on Saturday, one day after he was recalled from Chicago on an emergency basis.
"What are you going to do, cry over it or what?" Brind'Amour said. "We just to have to keep moving forward. Thankfully we brought [Kochetkov] over. It's not what you drew up, it's not what you want happen, injuries to anybody especially to goalies, but hopefully neither (Raanta nor Andersen) will be too serious and we'll get them back." -- Jon Lane

Edmonton Oilers

Darnell Nurse will be out at least one more game for the Oilers with a lower-body injury.
The defenseman is day to day and missed a 5-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. He was injured late in the second period of a 6-3 victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.
"We don't think it's anything major," Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft said before the game Sunday.
When asked if Nurse would be ready when the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin next week, Woodcroft said, "We'll see."
Nurse and forward Jesse Puljujarvi (illness) did not make a trip that ends against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday. Nurse has scored 35 points (nine goals, 26 assists) and is plus-18 in 71 games. He leads the Oilers in ice time per game (25:03) and blocked shots (132). -- Craig Merz

Toronto Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews had seven shots on goal and played 21:40 for the Maple Leafs in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday after missing three games with an undisclosed injury.
"It didn't go too bad," Matthews said. "We created a lot of chances, but the bounces didn't go our way. I thought we did a lot of good things. Definitely would have liked to see us get that extra point."
The center leads the NHL with 58 goals and is two from becoming the first NHL player since Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2011-12 to score 60 in a season.
The Maple Leafs (51-21-7) are second in the Atlantic Division, five points ahead of the Lightning, having played one more game.
Michael Bunting left the game Saturday in the first period with an undisclosed injury. Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe said the rookie forward would "miss some time for sure."

Boston Bruins

David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm are not playing for the Bruins at the Montreal Canadiens (TSN2, RDS, NESN, ESPN+, NHL LIVE).
The forward and defenseman returned for a 3-1 win against the New York Rangers on Saturday. Pastrnak had a goal and an assist after missing eight games with an undisclosed injury. Lindholm led Boston with 24:41 of ice time after missing seven because of a lower-body injury.
Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said before the game it was doubtful Pastrnak and Lindholm would travel to Montreal for the second of a back-to-back.
"Did not get a medical report yet if there [were] any setbacks at all, but certainly didn't look like it," Cassidy said after the game Saturday. "Neither one left the game, played right until the bitter end."
Boston hosts the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
Linus Ullmark made 30 saves Saturday after missing three games with a lower-body injury.
"I was just out for like a week, so I wasn't worried at all [about rust]," Ullmark said. "I thought the boys in front did a terrific job in front, keeping me on my toes and helping me out there in the beginning. Obviously, there's going to be some small rustiness, but when you get [good] looks in the beginning, it's long gone." -- Patrick Donnelly
