Pittsburgh Penguins

Tristan Jarry is week to week for the Penguins with a lower-body injury.
The goalie did not practice Friday after making 36 saves in a 6-3 win against the New York Islanders on Thursday. Jarry is 34-18-6 with an NHL career-best 2.42 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in 58 games.
"The only information that I have right now is that he is out with a lower-body injury and his status is week to week," Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said before a 2-1 loss at the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
Casey DeSmith made 27 saves against the Bruins. Louis Domingue was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League and backed up DeSmith.
DeSmith is 8-2-4 since beginning the season 0-3-1.
"At the time, obviously, it's tough to deal with," DeSmith said Friday. "I hate losing, as does everyone. … Start building the confidence back. Ancient history. Haven't thought about the first four games of the season in a while." -- Wes Crosby

Vancouver Canucks

Bo Horvat could be out for the rest of the regular season with a lower-body injury for the Canucks.
The center left 1:36 into the second period of a 7-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday after a shot by Coyotes defenseman Anton Stralman hit him on the inside of his right ankle. The Canucks said Friday that Horvat would be reevaluated in two weeks. Vancouver's final regular-season game is at the Edmonton Oilers on April 29.
Horvat is fourth on Vancouver with 52 points (31 goals, 21 assists) in 70 games.
Forward Nils Hoglander had surgery to repair a core muscle/groin injury. There is no timetable for his return. Hoglander last played March 15.
Forward Matthew Highmore returned to practice Friday after missing nine games with an upper-body injury and is expected to play against the Dallas Stars on Monday. Forward Brock Boeser, who has missed five games with an upper-body injury, might be able to play Monday, coach Bruce Boudreau said. -- Kevin Woodley

San Jose Sharks

Erik Karlsson returned to San Jose for further evaluation due to a nagging lower-body injury that has been affecting him the past two games, Sharks coach Bob Boughner said Saturday before a 2-1 loss at the Dallas Stars.
Boughner said the decision to send the defenseman home was precautionary.
Karlsson has 35 points (10 goals, 25 assists) and was second on the Sharks averaging 23:28 of ice time per game in 50 games this season. He missed six games from Oct. 29-Nov. 12 after testing positive for COVID-19 and 15 games from Jan. 21-March 9 after having surgery to repair a muscle tear in his forearm.
The Sharks finished a five-game road trip with a 5-4 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. It was their 10th consecutive loss (0-6-4). -- Taylor Baird

Los Angeles Kings

Andreas Athanasiou returned for the Kings in a 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
The forward missed 17 games with an upper-body injury. He also missed the first 10 games of the season after sustaining an upper-body injury during training camp, six games while in NHL COVID-19 protocol Nov. 24-Dec. 6 and 16 games from Dec. 16-Jan. 24 with a lower-body injury.
He finished with three shots in 18:54 of ice time and has 14 points (nine goals, five assists) in 23 games
"He's the one guy that has been able to come back in the lineup and produce in games one and two really, really quickly," Kings coach Todd McLellan said prior to the win.

Colorado Avalanche

Ben Meyers scored in his NHL debut for the Avalanche in a 7-4 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The forward signed a two-year contract with the Avalanche on Wednesday after he had 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) in 34 games for the University of Minnesota this season.
"I want to see him work hard, be responsible defensively, and chip in if he can," Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. "The reason we chose tonight is he's skated for a couple of days now. It hasn't been that long since he played. We don't have any practice time coming up. We just don't have it."
Meyers, who was a free agent, had 39 goals and 56 assists in 102 NCAA games over three seasons.
"A big thing is you want an opportunity to play at the NHL level, but also at the same time there's a lot of great players here that I can learn from early in my career," Meyers said. "I want to be a 200-foot player, a guy with a high motor, and just someone who competes every night and then also has some skill and can make some plays as well." -- Ryan Boulding

New Jersey Devils

Ryan Graves did not play for the Devils in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.
The defenseman sustained a facial cut when struck by a skate blade in a 3-1 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
"He was fortunate where it happened (on the chin), it's probably the best place possible," Devils coach Lindy Ruff said. "He's doing good. I tried to cheer him up, I told him to keep his chin up."
Ruff did not provide a timetable for Graves to return. Graves has 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) in 69 games this season.
Colton White took his place in the lineup Saturday and had three hits and two blocked shots in 18:30 playing on a defense pair with Damon Severson.
White hadn't played since March 16 against the Calgary Flames. The defenseman has four assists in 26 games this season.
"The one thing we know is that every time he stepped in the lineup, he's given us a good game," Ruff said. "He's consistent, his effort is predictable in how he plays. There may be a little bit of rust, but we've kept him pretty busy when he hasn't been playing. He's got a great attitude." -- Andy Eide

Boston Bruins

Linus Ullmark was unavailable for the Bruins in their 2-1 win against the Penguins on Saturday.
The goalie did not practice Friday and is day to day with an undisclosed injury after he left a 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday following the first period.
"Hopefully it's a quick one," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said Friday.
Cassidy said after the game that Ullmark, who took an Erik Brannstrom slap shot off the mask at 2:17 of the first period, "was not feeling well after the first."
Ullmark went to the bench to speak with the trainer during the first stoppage in play after saving Brannstrom's shot.
Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves against the Penguins. He made 21 saves in relief of Ullmark on Thursday. The Bruins recalled goalie Troy Grosenick from Providence of the American Hockey League on Friday. -- Patrick Donnelly

Chicago Blackhawks

Kirby Dach did not play for the Blackhawks in a 4-3 loss at the Nashville Predators on Saturday because of a right-shoulder sprain.
The forward did not practice Friday after he left early in the third period of a 5-4 shootout win against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. He has 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 70 games this season.
"The trainers just told me, 'I think he's done. His shoulder,' Blackhawks coach Derek King said. "I don't know if he got hit or [forward Sam] Lafferty ran into him and then somebody fell on him. Hopefully I don't have to shut him down, but we'll see Monday when all the tests come back."
Connor Murphy practiced Friday for the first time since he was taken off on a stretcher during the first period of a 6-3 win against the Ottawa Senators on March 12. The defenseman has missed the past 14 games with a concussion sustained that game. Murphy has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 57 games this season.
"Whether he plays again this year or not, the fact that he's out there skating around with the guys and he's going around talking to guys, I think that's just great," King said. "It's good for the guys too. Keeps them loose." -- Tracey Myers
