Top free agent goalies: Schneider on the market

Craig Anderson, Ottawa Senators

The 39-year old won't be with the Senators next season but said he wants to continue playing in the NHL. Anderson was 11-17-2 with a 3.25 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 34 games (31 starts) last season, and his 202 wins are the most in Senators history. He is 289-251-67 with two ties, a 2.84 GAA, a .913 save percentage and 42 shutouts in 648 games (633 starts) with the Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks, and 23-22 with a 2.35 GAA and .929 save percentage in 46 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Jimmy Howard, Detroit Red Wings

The 36-year-old had the worst numbers in his 11 full NHL seasons, going 2-23-2 with a 4.20 GAA and .882 save percentage in 27 starts, including 0-18-2 in his final 20. However, Howard said he doesn't plan on retiring and wants to prove he can still play in the NHL. He is 246-196-70 with a 2.62 GAA, a .912 save percentage and 24 shutouts in 543 regular-season games (523 starts), and 21-26 with a 2.58 GAA and .918 save percentage in 48 playoff games (47 starts).
Possible landing spots: Blackhawks, Penguins, San Jose Sharks

Ryan Miller, Anaheim Ducks

Miller, who turned 40 in July, could decide to retire. If not, he'll likely sign a one-year contract with a Cup-contending team to have one more shot at winning. He was 9-6-4 with a 3.10 GAA and .907 save percentage in 20 games (19 starts) with the Ducks last season. Miller has the most wins by a United-States born goalie and is 387-281-85 (one tie) with a 2.62 GAA, .915 save percentage and 44 shutouts in 780 regular-season games (758 starts) with the Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues and Sabres. He is 28-27 with a 2.52 GAA, .913 save percentage and three shutouts in 57 playoff games (55 starts).

Cory Schneider, New Jersey Devils

The 34-year-old had the final two years of his contract bought out by the Devils on Oct. 8 after struggling the past two seasons (9-19-6, 3.22 GAA, .897 save percentage). He hasn't played more than 40 games since 2016-17 but can provide veteran leadership for a team needing a backup goalie. He is 170-159-58 with a 2.43 GAA, .918 save percentage and 26 shutouts in 409 regular-season games (388 starts).
