NHL teams, players and fans got to take a nice look back to the future on Monday.
The
unveiling of adidas' Reverse Retro jerseys
-- new jersey looks for each of the 31 NHL teams inspired by some portion of the team's history -- was a mammoth hit on social media.

Fans were showing the love to their favorite jerseys. And players seem to feel the same way.
There were plenty of fire emojis to go around, one from Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri for their Quebec Nordiques-inspired sweaters and three from Columbus Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno for their reimagined color scheme.

When the Pittsburgh Penguins showed off their new-look jerseys with the famous diagonal city name, forward Bryan Rust's mouth watered.

Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk approved of bringing back "Blasty," the flame-spewing horse logo the Flames began wearing in 1998.

New York Rangers defenseman Tony DeAngelo touted the return of the Statue of Liberty logo, which New York originally wore from 1996-2007.

Goalie Ryan Miller is enough of a veteran to have worn the original Buffalo Sabres jerseys that inspired their new look. And he said hello to a old teammate, Danny Briere, in the process.

Teams had some fun with the new looks as well. The New Jersey Devils photoshopped their green Reverse Retro jersey over the green jacket that Dustin Johnson, the 2020 Masters champion and future son-in-law of Wayne Gretzky, won on Sunday.

They also threw in another iconic green reference with a Kermit the Frog post.

The Arizona Coyotes went full '90s graphics on their Reverse Retro jersey video.

The buzz surrounding the new jerseys was enough to make a hockey fan dance with joy. But you don't have to cue up "Brass Bonanza." The Carolina Hurricanes already did.
