New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein is out indefinitely with a fractured thumb, the Rangers announced Wednesday.
Klein, 31, sustained the injury in a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday at Prudential Center. Klein, who has 10 points in 38 games this season, left the game at 16:58 and did not return.
Left wing Rick Nash (bone bruise) did not practice Wednesday. Nash has 12 goals and 21 assists in 45 games.
