"I think it has to be one of the best games of the year," Bishop said. "We played well in every facet of the game. The guys did a great job."
Henrik Lundqvist made 39 saves, and David Desharnais scored for the Rangers (25-23-5), who have lost three games in a row and six of seven.

"[Lundqvist] gave us a chance to win, and that's what you want from your goaltender," coach Alain Vigneault said.
Hanzal scored on the power play at 4:05 of the third when he tipped a Julius Honka shot from the point to make it 2-1. It was Hanzal's first game back after missing five with a lower-body injury.
"I feel OK," Hanzal said. "It's always hard when you get back when you miss a long time. It's hard to get in game tempo. It took me a couple shifts, but after that I felt pretty good. Scoring the goal, it was lucky on the tip and went in."
Hanzal won eight of 11 face-offs and was a key part of the Stars penalty kill, which went 3-for-3.
"He just manages the game so well, he's a real good player, and we've missed him," Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We've missed his presence, he's a real good pro, and I guess we're hoping that he stays healthy. He came through the game fine, and that's a good sign. And a healthy Martin Hanzal makes us a lot different hockey club, and very difficult to play against."
After Vinni Lettieri stole the puck from Dallas forward Devin Shore in the neutral zone, Desharnais gave New York a 1-0 lead at 17:55 of the first period when he scored on the rebound of a Lettieri shot.

The Stars outshot the Rangers 21-9 in the first. The 21 shots are the most they have had in one period this season.
"There's no doubt that they came at us pretty hard in the first period," Vigneault said. "They got some momentum off their power plays, they got some pretty good zone time there and a few looks that missed the net, but they got a little bit of momentum off of that. But I thought after that, we buckled down and tightened up our game, got some looks. Their goaltender made a couple big saves."
Seguin tied the game 1-1 at 14:44 of the second period when he beat Lundqvist with a slap shot during a delayed penalty. Jason Spezza and Alexander Radulov got the assists.
"I thought the thing we deserve credit for is we stayed with it. We didn't get frustrated, we stayed on the program," Hitchcock said. "We had to dig in. This game was really good for us because we had to go a bit deeper than we have here in the last couple games and we dug deep to get it."

They said it

"In the end, I think the difference was special teams. We take too many penalties. It's hard for us right now to get wins. We can't take too many penalties. That's a fact. Getting their best players on the ice, that leaves them with an opportunity to take chances but also to keep our top guys off the ice. We just need to be better in that department, and we'll have a chance." -- Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist
"It's huge, especially going down towards the end of the season here, there's going to be a lot of close games and you're not always going to score the first goal, so it's important to stick with it and trust your work, trust the game plan and not get away from it. If we keep playing hard and getting pucks behind their D and doing the simple things, teams are going to crack and that's when we're going to get our goals." -- Stars forward Tyler Pitlick on not getting frustrated early
