NEW YORK (CP) - The New York Rangers agreed to terms on a pro contract Monday with forward Brodie Dupont.
He had 70 points in 70 games for the Calgary Hitmen this season. In addition to his 37 goals and 33 assists, Dupont had 90 penalty minutes and a plus-23 rating.
In the playoffs, Dupont led the team in goals (nine) and points (16) and helped the Hitmen reach the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference final, where they lost to the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The 20-year-old Russell, Man., native recorded 81 goals and 68 assists for 149 points in 214 career games with Calgary.
The six-foot-two 210-pounder was selected by the Rangers in the third round (66th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
