Gostisbehere powers Flyers past Islanders

Shayne Gostisbehere scored two power-play goals, and Claude Giroux had two assists to help the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-1 win against the New York Islanders at Wells Fargo Center.
Mikhail Vorobyov gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at 16:56 of the first period before Gostisbehere scored his first goal at 19:31.

Gostisbehere scored again at 5:30 of the second period to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead.
Mike Sislo scored for the Islanders at 10:05 of the second period.
Michal Neuvirth allowed one goal on nine shots in 29:58 for Philadelphia before being relieved by Carter Hart, who made 11 saves.
Thomas Greiss started for New York and allowed three goals on 13 shots. He was replaced midway through the game by Jeremy Smith, who made seven saves.
