SHERBROOKE, Que. - The newest Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team will be called the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
The expansion franchise unveiled its name and logo in a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday.
Sherbrooke was awarded a franchise in May and will begin play for the 2012-13 season. It's ownership group is led by former QMJHL and NHL all-star goaltender Jocelyn Thibault.
The city has had two previous QMJHL franchises. The original Sherbrooke Castors left in 1982 while the most recent incarnation, also known as the Castors, relocated to Lewiston, Maine in 2003.
The Lewiston Maineiacs franchise dissolved after last season.
