SEATTLE --Andre Burakovsky scored 1:10 into overtime, and the Seattle Kraken ended the New Jersey Devils' five-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory at Climate Pledge Arena on Thursday.

Burakovsky circled the zone with the puck before scoring five-hole on Mackenzie Blackwood from the right face-off circle.
"Those points are so important," Seattle coach Dave Hakstol said. "To be able to have the poise, presence, to go out and make a play is important. There's a bunch of guys looking back at me sitting on the bench that wanted to go out there tonight (in overtime). I can tell you that and you know, truth be known, there's a bunch of guys that probably could have went out and made a play for us. So that's important, but [Burakovsky] went out and made the play, and that seals up the point for us."
Ryan Donato had two goals and an assist, and Martin Jones made 27 saves for the Kraken (27-14-4), who had lost two in a row.
"We got these last couple of games before the All-Star break, so ending on the right note is definitely huge," Donato said. "I mean, we're playing against good teams and every point matters. Now I think we've climbed to the top of the standings in our division with that game (tied with the Vegas Golden Knights), but you know, there's going to be a lot of teams trying to knock us off the top, so I think winning those games is huge."

Nico Hischier, Erik Haula and Damon Severson scored for the Devils (29-12-4), who went 4-0-1 on a five-game road trip. Blackwood made 36 saves.
"We've found ways to win. It turns out to be a good trip. You're happy when you can get that amount of points," New Jersey coach Lindy Ruff said. "We're not happy with the way we're playing, didn't like the way we played tonight, lost too many battles, gave up too many situations that are preventable, and I think we've been kind of trending, playing a bad period and being able to come back, and I think it finally caught up with us tonight."
Haula tied it 2-2 at 6:04 of the third period, beating Jones with a backhand on a breakaway for a short-handed goal.
"There was a loose puck and I just won the battle," Haula said. "I just took off, got a chance. It took a good bounce after a good play by [Dawson Mercer]. … Nine points out of 10 on this long road trip is good. Now we head home and have a few games before break, so we're going to try and focus on that."
Brandon Tanev put Seattle back in front 3-2 at 7:51 when he tapped in a cross-crease backhand pass from Donato.
Hischier responded to tie it 3-3 at 18:46. He scored on a rebound in front with Blackwood on the bench for the extra skater.

Donato gave the Kraken a 1-0 lead at 12:27 of the first period, scoring short side over the glove of Blackwood from the right circle after receiving a stretch pass off the boards from Will Borgen.
Donato then made it 2-0 at 4:52 of the second period when he scored from a similar spot, this time after electing to shoot on a 2-on-1 with Jared McCann.
Severson cut it to 2-1 at 11:32 with a wrist shot blocker side from above the circles off a quick drop pass from Jesper Bratt.
"I thought we played quick again tonight," Hakstol said. "We had our energy back, physically and mentally we were on it, and you could feel that right from the start of the hockey game, and that carried through. I mean, there's going to be momentum swings back and forth, but you could feel that throughout the hockey game."
NOTES:New Jersey also had its seven-game road winning streak end. … Defenseman Vince Dunn had the primary assist on Burakovsky's goal to extend his point streak to an NHL career-high nine games (five goals, eight assists). The point streak is also the longest in Kraken history.
