DEVILS (36-31-8) at HURRICANES (32-28-15)
TV: 5 p.m. ET; MSG+, FS-CR, NHL.TV
Season series:The New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes have split four games this season, with each winning once at home and on the road. The Hurricanes won the most recent game, 3-1 at Prudential Center on March 1. Joakim Nordstrom broke a 1-1 tie for Carolina with 1:29 remaining and Eddie Lack made 29 saves.

Devils team scope: New Jersey did not practice Saturday after a 1-0 overtime loss against the Washington Capitals at Prudential Center on Friday. Devils goalie Scott Wedgewood starts; he is 2-0-1 in three NHL games and has stopped 91 of 93 shots. "He's played great since he got here," forward Kyle Palmieri told The Star-Ledger. "Hopefully he can keep that going. It makes it a lot harder on other teams. They come in and see the fact that he's only had three NHL games and they think it's going to be an (easy) night. Then he goes out there and surprises them. He's played three great games this week." Defenseman Adam Larsson is OK after getting hit in the face by a puck early in the third period Friday. "I was lucky," Larsson said. "But it's never fun to get a puck in the face."
Hurricanes team scope:Carolina will play its second game in as many nights following a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders at PNC Arena on Saturday. Seven of the Hurricanes' past 10 games have gone past regulation. "We're in games and right there," center Jordan Staal told the Hurricanes website. "Unfortunate ending. I thought we battled pretty hard besides the first period. The second and third were good, and in overtime we had a lot of chances. Just couldn't come up with the two points." Center Patrick Brown, who was recalled before the game from Charlotte of the American Hockey League, made his NHL debut and will play again Sunday, according to coach Bill Peters. "He was good. Tough kid," Peters said. "I thought he came in and had good energy. He was good. I look forward to seeing him [Sunday]." Goalie Cam Ward will start after Lack made 27 saves against the Islanders.
