New acquisition Beljo scores winner as Knights beat IceDogs 6-3 @NHL

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Newly acquired Jadran Beljo scored the winning goal as the London Knights doubled the Niagara IceDogs 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Beljo, traded to London last week, was sent home from training camp before the season and hadn't worked out prior to joining the Knights last week.

The Knights, winners of three straight, scored three goals in just over five minutes in the third period to improve their record to 3-6-0. The IceDogs fell to 8-3-0.

Patrick Maroon had two goals and two assists for the winners and Justin Taylor added a pair. Kevin Montgomery scored the other Knights goal.

Stefan Legein, Mike Swift and Luca Caputi replied for the IceDogs, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Andrew Loverock was solid in the IceDogs goal as the Knights held a 48-35 shots advantage.
