Netminder Perugini stands tall with 35 saves as Colts trample IceDogs 2-0 @NHL

ST, CATHARINES, Ont. - Andrew Perugini turned aside 35 shots as the Barrie Colts blanked the Niagara IceDogs 2-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday at Jack Gatecliff Arena.

Vladimir Nikiforov scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the first period, taking Tomas Marcinko's pass at the Niagara blue-line, went in on a partial breakaway and slipped the puck through Andrew Loverock's pads.

Alex Hutchings iced the win with an empty-net goal with 3.9 seconds remaining in the game.

Barrie, 6-6-1-0, was outshot 35-18 by the IceDogs, 9-4-0-0, before 2,291 fans.
