WINDSOR - Adam Henrique scored late in the third period to send the game to overtime and Greg Nemisz scored the shootout winner as the surging Windsor Spitfires beat the Saginaw Spirit 4-3 Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.
The Spitfires, ranked seventh overall in the Canadian Hockey League ratings, improved to 5-0-0-0 - their best start since the 2002-03 season.
The Spirit fell to 2-1-1-1.
Jan Mursak opened the scoring for the Spirit on a breakaway. Windsor replied with a little more than a minute left in the opening period when Bradley Snetsinger came in on a breakaway and beat Spirit goaltender Ryan Daniels
Snetsinger's second goal of the game late in the second period staked the Spitfires to a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
Patrick Asselin and Ryan McDonough gave the Spirit the lead in the third period before Henrique's fifth goal of the season sent the game into overtime.
Andrew Engelage made 25 saves for Windsor while Daniels stopped 36 shots for Saginaw.
