WINDSOR, Ont. - Greg Nemisz scored twice and Adam Henrique added a goal and two assists as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Saginaw Spirit 6-2 in Tuesday's lone Ontario Hockey League game.
The teams traded special team goals to open the scoring in the first period. Henrique was sent in on a shorthanded breakaway by Lane MacDermid and lofted a backhander behind Spirit netminder Edward Pasquale.
Saginaw's Tyler Murovich replied for the visitors on the same power play just 49 seconds later.
Rookie Adam Wallace, with the first goal of his Ontario Hockey League career; Eric Wellwood, with another shothanded marker; and MacDermid had Windsor's other goals.
Jordan Skellett was the other scorer for Saginaw.
OHL scoring leader Taylor Hall, who was cut from the training camp of the national junior team on Monday, chipped in with an assist on the night for the Spits.
Andrew Engelage made 21 saves to pick up the win in goal for the league-leading Spitfires (29-4-0-1) while Pasquale, who has started every game for the Spirit (20-10-0-2) this season, made 27 saves as the other end.
The two teams play a return match in Saginaw on Friday night.
