Two huge points will be on the line for the Colorado Avalanche
and Buffalo Sabres
on Wednesday night. They'll be pursuing them in front of a nationally-televised audience.
The Avs, who are scrambling for one of the final playoff spots in the ever-so-tight Western Conference, will face the Buffalo Sabres
at the First Niagara Center as part of the NHL's six-game schedule. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on the NBC Sports Network in the United States and TSN2 in Canada.
Buffalo (33-29-8) is four points behind Washington for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Sabres will be seeking their third straight win.
Wednesday's action features another 7:30 p.m. ET start, as the Montreal Canadiens
host the Ottawa Senators
at the Bell Centre. That showdown can be seen on RDS and TSN in Canada.
At 8:30 p.m. ET, the Winnipeg Jets
have a tough task as they host the red-hot Dallas Stars
at the MTS Centre. Dallas, which sits atop the Pacific Division, improved to 10-0-1 in its last 11 with Tuesday's 1-0 win at Minnesota.
The final three games of the evening all get under way at 10 p.m. ET. The Columbus Blue Jackets
are in Edmonton to face the Oilers; the Vancouver Canucks
are home to the Phoenix Coyotes
and the Detroit Red Wings
battle the Anaheim Ducks
at the Honda Center.
