NBC has selected the game between the Detroit Red Wings
and Chicago Blackhawks
on April 10 as its NHL Game of the Week. The game at the United Center will air at 12:30 p.m. ET.
The showdown between the longtime Original Six rivals comes on the final day of the 2010-11 regular season. With both clubs jockeying for position in the tight Western Conference standings, this game could impact the matchups for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Red Wings are first in the Central Division standings and second in the Western Conference with a record of 43-22-9, good for 95 points. The Blackhawks are second in the division and fifth in the conference with 88 points and a 40-25-8 record. The two clubs have met three times so far this season, with Chicago winning twice and the Red Wings once. The teams also meet Monday night and on April 8, both in Detroit.
