EDMONTON --Nazem Kadri will miss the rest of the Western Conference Final for the Colorado Avalanche after he sustained an undisclosed injury in Game 3 on Saturday.

Kadri was injured when he was checked hard into the boards by Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane at 1:06 of the first period. Kane received a major penalty for boarding on the play.
"He's out. He'll be out for the series at least, if not longer," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said. "The hit, it's the most dangerous play in hockey. He puts him in headfirst from behind, 8 feet from the boards. I'll leave it at that."

Following the hit, Kadri spent several minutes on the ice and was attended to by Colorado's trainer before being helped to the dressing room. He was replaced as center on the second line by J.T. Compher, who scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period for the Avalanche in a
4-2 win
.
"I was just coming in on the backcheck," Kane said. "Puck went wide, kind of dribbled into the corner. I know he likes to reverse hit. I was just trying to get a bump on him, that's really all I did. Unfortunately he went into the boards awkwardly and hurt his hands. But that was unfortunate."
Colorado leads the best-of-7 series 3-0. Game 4 will be here on Monday.
Kadri entered tied the game tied for fourth on Colorado with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 12 postseason games.
