HAMILTON - Joonas Nattinen's second goal of the year led the Hamilton Bulldogs to their first win in seven games, 3-2 over the Rochester Americans in American Hockey League action on Saturday.

Nattinen scored unassisted at 9:16 of the third period to put a stop to Hamilton's winless skid.

Mike Blunden and Mark Mitera also scored for the Bulldogs (7-12-2).

Derek Whitmore and Colin Stuart replied for Rochester (10-9-3).

Nathan Lawson made 23 saves for Hamilton, while Drew MacIntyre stopped 25 shots for Rochester.

Whitmore opened the scoring for Rochester as pushed the rebound of a Marcus Foligno shot past Lawson at 4:47 into the first period. Whitmore's 11th goal of the season was also his fifth in his last four periods against the Bulldogs.

Hamilton tied the game at 18:46 of the first as Blunden scored the team's first goal in over two games.

The Bulldogs took the lead with just 2.8 seconds left in the first. Mitera got his first goal as a Bulldog, snapping a 13-game pointless streak and a 20-game goalless streak by firing a rebound of a Brian Willsie shot past MacIntyre.

Hamilton was down two men for 1:05 early in the second period, but they allowed only two shots on goal in that stretch.

The Americans tied the game with 5:43 left in the second period, after a nice series of passes led to Stuart's goal.
