Forward Nate Thompson signed a two-year, $3.3 million contract with the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The contract has an average annual value of $1.65 million.

Thompson, 32, played for Senators coach Guy Boucher from 2010-13 when Boucher coached the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He had two points (one goal, one assist) in 30 games with the Anaheim Ducks last season. He had six points (two goals, four assists) in 17 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping the Ducks reach the Western Conference Final.
Selected by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round (No. 183) in the 2003 NHL Draft, Thompson has 111 points (48 goals, 63 assists) in 550 regular-season games with the Ducks, Bruins, Lightning and New York Islanders.
