The Nashville Predators
announced Wednesday that they have signed goaltender Anders Lindback
, their seventh-round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft, to a two-year entry-level contract.
The 22-year-old, taken with the 207th pick in '08, spent his first full season as a starting netminder for Timra of the Swedish Elite League this past season. The 6-foot-6 goaltender ranked fifth in the league in save percentage (.913) and sixth in goals-against average (2.46), while tying for fourth in shutouts (4). The tallest player ever drafted by the Predators, Lindback earned a bronze medal with Sweden at the just-concluded 2010 World Championships, his first time representing his nation in international competition.
Lindback is expected to attend training camp in September and play his first North American season in 2010-11.
