Predators defeat Jets in Game 4 to tie Western series

WINNIPEG -- Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to help the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Second Round at Bell MTS Place on Thursday.
The best-of-7 series is tied 2-2. Game 5 is at Nashville on Saturday.

Patrik Laine's power-play goal ended Rinne's shutout at 19:09 of the third period. It was Laine's first goal since April 13.
"Something we really focused on [was] playing solid defensively, which we did," Rinne said. "Amazing team effort, we played a really solid game throughout the 60 minutes and obviously big win for us."

Ryan Hartman and P.K Subban scored for the Predators, who have yet to lose back-to-back games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"I think the biggest thing is we had full commitment through our lineup to play defense," Subban said. "In our zone when bounces didn't go our way, we worked the puck out of the zone. We got in the neutral zone, we got pucks deep, we forechecked when we needed to and we paid attention to the details."
Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves for Winnipeg, which lost at home for the first time since Feb. 27, a 6-5 loss to Nashville.
"Your goal on the road is to definitely steal one," Hellebuyck said. "We did our job, they did their job. There's a reason we're 1 and 2 in the West. It's two good teams going at it. You've got to expect this is going to be a battle right to the end."
Hartman scored his second of the playoffs at 17:20 of the first period when he collected a loose puck in the slot and sent a shot over Hellebuyck's glove hand.
"Everything they touched ... they were working that high flipper pretty good and then we're just skating into a wall again," Jets forward Bryan Little said. "We've got to find a way to beat that."
Subban pushed the Predators lead to 2-0 on the power play at 14:36 of the second period. Subban has a three-game goal streak.
"He's got a bomb, and he lets it go with time and space," Predators forward Scott Hartnell said of Subban. "He's really accurate with it too. He's scored a lot of goals this year and created a lot of opportunities for our forwards with rebounds, tips, screens, things like that."

Fiala scored in double overtime in Game 2. … Predators forwards Filip Forsberg (one goal, five assists) and Ryan Johansen (two goals, three assists) extended their point streaks to three games with assists on Subban's goal. … Predators defenseman Yannick Weber returned after missing 17 games because of an upper-body injury. … Jets forward Joel Armia returned after missing three games with an upper-body injury.
