Predators team scope

Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne is day to day with a lower-body injury, so Marek Mazanec will make his second start of the season after he was recalled from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League on Monday. "It's part of my job," Mazanec told the Predators website. "They send you down and call you up the next day, and I have to be ready to play." The Predators are on a three-game winning streak and have points in each of their past six games (4-0-2) but have struggled on the road this season (1-4-2). It is the first game for defenseman P.K. Subban in his hometown as a member of the Predators. "I guess I approach it the same way," Subban said. "No big difference for me, I still have a lot of family and friends coming to the game tonight."

Maple Leafs team scope

The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. Forward Auston Matthews has no goals and two assists in his past nine games. "Obviously the last couple of weeks have been tough and frustrating offensively," Matthews said. Forward William Nylander is also without a goal in his past nine games (three assists). The Maple Leafs have been outshot in each of their past three games. Toronto is 5-2-0 at home this season.
