Nashville Predators forward Colton Sissons will not be suspended and is eligible to play in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, SN, TVA Sports), the NHL Department of Player Safety said Friday.
Sissons was assessed a match penalty for cross-checking Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta with 34 seconds remaining in Pittsburgh's 6-0 victory Thursday, which gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
A match penalty carries an automatic suspension until the play is reviewed by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. After the automatic review, the League decided there would be no suspension.
The Penguins can win their second consecutive Stanley Cup with a victory against the Predators on Sunday.
