Alex Foster's goal 4:40 into the third period stood as the eventual game winner for the Marlies (14-12-0-3), who have earned points in three straight games. Tim Stapleton and Brent Aubin added singles in the victory.
Taylor Chorney replied for the Falcons (12-14-3-1), who have lost three in a row.
Springfield netminder Devan Dubnyk made 23 saves in defeat.
