TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning and The Mosaic Company announced today that $200,000 will be donated to local food banks through the Goals for Food program.

Prior to the NHL pause, Mosaic was set to donate $70,000 tied to Lightning goals scored during the 2019-20 season. During this difficult and uncertain time Mosaic will be adding an additional $130,000 for a grand total of $200,000. The money will be distributed to 14 food banks across six local counties. The Lightning already donated 18 pallets of food and beverages to Metropolitan Ministries and Feeding Tampa Bay last week.

"Mosaic's mission is to help the world grow the food it needs," said Mosaic President and CEO Joc O'Rourke. "At this time of critical need, we are pleased to support the many vital community food organizations associated with the Goals for Food program. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Lightning in the years ahead."

With a previously scheduled food drive tied to Goals for Food on hold during the Coronavirus pause, the Lightning and Mosaic are encouraging fans to help those battling food insecurity by donating even the smallest amount. For every dollar raised by Feeding Tampa Bay at Video: Goals For Food PSA 10 meals are provided to those who are in need.
