PORTLAND, Ore. - Joseph Morrow scored a power-play goal with 5:17 left in regulation to break a tie and give the Portland Winterhawks a 2-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Portland, which improved to 4-0 against the Rockets this season, equaled a franchise record with its 16th consecutive home win.
Brad Ross also scored for the Winterhawks (28-12-3).
Zach Franko scored the lone goal for the Rockets (17-21-5).
Mac Carruth made 37 saves for the win, and first star of the game, while Jordon Cooke stopped 35 of 37 shots in defeat.
Portland finished 1 for 4 on the power play, while Kelowna went 0 for 4.
