WINNIPEG - The Manitoba Moose advanced to the American Hockey League's Calder Cup final after wrapping up the Western Conference final with a 3-1 win over the Houston Aeros on Monday.
The Moose will face the Hershey Bears in the AHL final. The Bears beat the Providence Bruins 5-2 earlier Monday to win the Eastern Conference final in five games.
Michael Grabner had the winning goal for Manitoba while Matt Pope and Mark Fistric also scored as the Moose won the West final in six games. Manitoba had a 3-0 series lead before Houston fought back with wins in the last two games.
Corey Locke had the lone goal for Houston.
Manitoba finished first overall in the AHL during the regular season with a record of 50-23-1-6, capturing its second North Division title.
