MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens will present "You Can Play Night" as part of the National Hockey League's Hockey is for Everyone month when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Bell Centre on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; SNE, RDS, FS-O, NHL.TV).

Montreal forward Andrew Shaw volunteered to serve as the Canadiens' You Can Play ambassador at the launch of the Hockey is for Everyone 2017 campaign, which emphasizes the importance of respect and inclusion of LGBTQ community in sports.

"Everyone's equal out there, everyone's the same, so I think we should all step up and start treating people the way we want to be treated," Shaw said.

Canadiens players will use rainbow-colored Pride tape on their sticks during the pregame warmup to highlight the themes of inclusion and diversity in collaboration with You Can Play, the NHL partner for this campaign. The sticks will then be auctioned to raise funds for You Can Play programs.
