OTTAWA - Sean Monahan scored twice and added an assist Sunday to lift the Ottawa 67's to a 6-2 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs in Ontario Hockey League action.

The 67's improved to 2-0 on the season with the help of a five-goal, first-period outburst, including three goals in the span of a minute against Frontenacs goaltender Igor Bobkov.

Tyler Graovac had a goal and an assist while Marc Zanetti, on the power play, Brett Gustavsen and Remy Giftopoulos also scored for Ottawa.

Cody Ceci and Steven Janes each had two assists and Petr Mrazek made 18 saves to pick up the win in goal.

"We did a good job of working hard early on," 67's coach and general manager Chris Byrne said. "It's nice to have different guys scoring and defencemen scoring."

The Frontenacs have now allowed 18 goals and scored just seven in losing all three games to start their season.

Rookie Warren Steele and Derek Froats scored for Kingston.

Bobkov was pulled in the first after giving up the five goals on 16 shots and replaced by Blake Richard, who didn't have to make another save. Bobkov returned to the net to start the second period and finished with 36 stops on the afternoon.
