Monahan gets game-winner as Tigres even series with Mooseheads after 3-2 win

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. - Alexandre Monahan scored the go-ahead goal shorthanded late in the second period to give the Victoriaville Tigres a 3-2 win over the Halifax Mooseheads and even their East Division QMHJL quarter-final 2-2.

Colby Pridham opened the scoring for Halifax with less than a minute left in the first period for his first of the post-season.

Jonathan Bonneau tied it at 4:52 of the second and Alexandre Labonte made it 2-1 less than two minutes later.

Justin Pender evened it with a short-handed goal for the Mooseheads.

Elsewhere, it was: Oceanic 3, Drakkar 1.

At Victoriaville, Que., Kevin Poulin stopped 25 of 27 shots for Victoriaville, while Mark Yetman 29 saves for Halifax.

Game Five goes Saturday in Victoriaville.

At Rimouski, Que., Pierre-Alexandre Joncas scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period and Rimouski held on to beat Baie-Comeau and take a commanding 3-1 lead in their West Division quarter-final.

Sebastien Bernier and Patrice Cormier, into an empty net, had the other goals for the Oceanic.

Maxime Ouimet scored for the Drakkar.

Jean-Christophe Blanchard stopped 33 for Rimouski.
