The Dallas Stars
announced today that the club has activated center Mike Modano
and right wing Jere Lehtinen
from injured reserve.
Modano, 39, has missed 13 games with a rib injury he suffered in the Stars’ season opener against Nashville. He has recorded two penalty minutes in one game so far this season.
The Livonia, Michigan native is the highest scoring American-born player and holds every major Stars franchise scoring record. Modano has skated in 1,401 career NHL games (all with the Stars), collecting 543 goals and 786 assists in 20 seasons with the club.
Lehtinen, 36, has missed the last nine games with abdominal soreness. He has skated in two games for Dallas this season, recording one assist and four shots. Lehtinen missed the first three games of the 2009-10 campaign with a groin injury.
