Mitchell pilots Windsor Spitfires to 5-3 win over Whalers; take 2-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Dale Mitchell scored twice, including the eventual winner, as the Windsor Spitfires flew to a 5-3 playoff win over the Plymouth Whalers in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

Windsor leads the series 2-0 and will host Game 3 on Monday night.

Adam Henrique had a goal and two assists for the Spitfires, while top prospect Taylor Hall had a marker and an assist. Eric Wellwood added a single and Ryan Ellis had three assists.

AJ Jenks had a pair of goals and an assist for Plymouth, while Ryan Hayes also found the back of the net. Phil McRae assisted on all three tallies.

Philipp Grubauer made 23 saves for Windsor, while Matt Hackett stopped 51 shots.

The Spitfires scored twice on 25 shots in the second period alone.

Tyler Seguin, Hall's fellow prospect, was held off the score sheet and was -2 on the evening.
