Mitchell Marner has seen how letter writing can help people who are anxious due to COVID-19, so he wrote one of his own.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward penned a positive letter to hockey fans who are scared or anxious because of the global coronavirus pandemic.

"It's really hard knowing some of you are scared or worried about what's happening around the world right now," Marner wrote in his letter. "I get scared too. What helps me is knowing that my friends, teammates and family are feeling the same way."
Marner's letter was inspired by others written by children to other kids across Canada. He shared the letter in a post on Instagram and Twitter where he also announced his support for Kids Help Phone, a Canadian charitable organization that provides anonymous counselling to young people.
"If you need somewhere to go to talk about your feelings or worries, Kids Help Phone is here for you," Marner wrote. "Someone is always there."
